I met Kweisi Mfume last night
He spoke at a Dem dinner here in Talbot County. I really liked what I saw. I'm interested in hearing what people here think of him.

2. Cool!
I liked him when he was Rep from Baltimore and think he has done a good job at the NAACP. I envy you!

3. What did Frizzell "Pee Wee" Gray have to say that you liked?
He does have a interesting life story.

4. Yes, he does have an interesting story
and he told it very passionately last night.

What I liked most was that he didn't act like most Democrats (i.e., he spoke with clear convictions, showed a backbone, and spoke out forcefully on my interests (working class issues, anti-war, etc.)

6. I've admired Mfume for a long time
And was initally on board with him running for senate. But now, with that NAACP cronyism/favoritism dust up a few weeks ago, I'm a bit more cautious.

I still really like the guy. BUt more than that, I wanna win.

So .... I'm leaning toward being more open to considering someone else.

8. Frankly, I haven't been following Dems that much lately
so I don't know what his, or any other Dem's, campaign has been like. I've been working on things outside party politics these days (focusing instead on grassroots efforts surrounding anti-war and class issues), so I found what he said last night refreshing.

Maybe I should just stay the fuck out of party politics. Just the same ol' same ol', apparently.

10. the problem
has been how his campaign has handled the accusations against him. They also haven't been out there as much as Cardin.

9. Yeah that.....
I really like what Mfume has to say and he is SUCH an excellent speaker, but I am not sure he can beat Steele. Cardin on the other hand I think has a very good chance of beating Steele and he isn't such a bad guy from what I have read.
