Anti-war rally/canvass in Biddeford on Saturday...
We're making progress in our fight to get a new direction in Iraq, but Roadblock Republicans like Senator Susan Collins are still refusing to support a real change in Iraq. And, with long-time family roots in Maine, I'm especially interested in what happens in the state.

So I thought I'd write and let you know about a rally in Biddeford, ME put on by some of our friends from Americans Against the Escalation in Iraq. If you're down in that part of the state this weekend (or can be), swing on by this event and join with many others in demanding a new course from Senator Collins. Let her know how important this issue will be in your vote next year. We're expecting a lot of media to be there (including the New York Times ), so it would be great to get a large turnout to show them how energized we all are to get a change in Iraq policy.

Here's the information on the event:

Who: Mainers, war veterans, and Americans Against Escalation in Iraq (AAEI)
What: Rally followed by doorbelling
Where: Outside of Biddeford Town Hall
205 Main St.
Biddeford, ME 04005
When: Saturday, July 28th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

I'm encouraged by some of the developments recently; we're changing the debate on the war. But we've still got to get votes for a real change in policy from folks like Senator Collins. Let's demand action.
Thanks,
Brian
