There is a lack of information available to the students, Messing said. She wants to increase awareness about safe sex and teen pregnancy in order to decrease the number of teen pregnancies.
Messing said the RDHS Student Senate would like to prepare a student survey regarding the issue.
Carter said the district needs to realize that some students are having sex and the district
curriculum of abstinence needs to be expanded. She said the students need to be educated on safe sex so they can make informed choices.
