Vitter must GO! Justice for ALL lawbreakers (regardless of orientation)
Craig and Vitter are two of a kind!
But why is only ONE being forced to resign?

Rachel Maddow (Air America) is noting this hypocrisy now on her always awesome show.

Here is a snippet from the web I found:

"Forcing Larry Craig’s Resignation While Embracing David Vitter
Thursday, August 30th, 2007 by RLR

From Salon
By Glenn Greenwald

When Hugh Hewitt admitted that he wants Larry Craig to resign but does not want the adulterous, serial-prostitute-hiring David Vitter to do so, he was subjected to ridicule and scorn from many different corners — on the ground that this inconsistency is obviously attributable both to anti-gay animus and rank political self-interest (Vitter’s replacement would be chosen by a Democratic Governor, whereas Craig’s would be chosen by a right-wing GOP Governor). Even some right-wing blogs noted the absurdity of that position: “Hugh Hewitt wants Craig to resign immediately but David Vitter to stay on. Huh?” "

1. Vitter needs to answer some questions
Maybe the court case of his DC friend will provide him with a forum, venue and opportunity to do so.
I've heard the rumors, but I can't find a reliable source.
Hopefully we will know more soon.

2. If his own wife can't trust him...
Can the rest of Louisiana?

If he stays on until the end of his term, I can't see him getting re-elected.

I don't think he's been indicted yet. When he does, then he needs to resign.

In fairness, since my motive is to see Louisiana clean out the corrupt politics of the past. William Jefferson needs to tender his resignation right along with Vitter.

3. Anyone working to oust Vitter?
I'm a Louisiana resident and taxpayer who is outraged that Vitter is getting away with something that would've gotten the rest of us fired from our jobs! He does not have the moral authority to serve as a leader in this state, and he must go. Are there others who are working to get him out of office? If so, I want to join that cause! Please let me know at adam(at)bashaw.com.

Thanks!
Adam

4. OLDER DIRT ON VITTER
Sen. David Vitter (R-LA)

CONTRIBUTIONS — VITTER RECEIVED $6,000 FROM ABRAMOFF CLIENTS: “Vitter received $6,000 from Abramoff tribes from 1999 to 2001 and refunded it the day before he sent one of his letters to Norton in February 2002. He also used Abramoff’s restaurant for a September 2003 fund-raiser but failed to reimburse for it until this year.”

COUSHATTA CAMPAIGN — VITTER INSERTED LANGUAGE INTO BILL HELPING ABRAMOFF CLIENT: One of Abramoff’s tribal clients, the Coushattas, “opposed a plan by the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians to open a casino at a non-reservation site, expected at the time to be outside Shreveport, La., not far from a casino owned by the Coushattas.” Vitter “inserted language in the fiscal 2004 Interior appropriations bill — completed late in 2003 — requesting that the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Indian Gaming Commission deny an application from the Jena Choctaw Tribe of Louisiana for land for a gambling casino.” To encourage him, Abramoff had hosted a September 2003 fundraiser at his restaurant, “just two months before Vitter inserted a provision in an Interior spending bill helping one of Abramoff’s tribal clients .”
