Voting Rights Syposium March 24-25 Baton Rouge
Voting Rights symposium scheduled
March 13, 2006

"Preserving Power: Protecting Katrina Voting Rights and Renewing the Voting Rights Act," is a free two-day symposium that being hosted by the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25, 2006. Keynote speaker will be Theodore Shaw, president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

The Law Center, through its Civil Rights and Justice Institute, joins forces with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to present this symposium to explore voting rights issues, as well as provide training for students and other participants.
