Acadiana thread....part 2
Mon morn, 5:20 a.m.....just got up, nothing going on here, but must have had some gusts during the night, because I have a few smallish limbs on the ground from my tree. What are yall seeing? Thank goodness for the jog to the right...a jog to the left, and my head would have exploded. Good Mornin' Acadiana!

Finecraft...heard anything from N.O.?

1. Just from the drama queens on the Weather Channel. The talking
head was claim winds in NO at 100 mph. The crawl across the bottom read 47 mph.

11. I'm in NWFL. I have a friend in Metairie. I hope that she is evacuated.
Keep us informed.

Also, you will get a lot from FEMA, but if you need anything, like bleach, dog food, cat food, etc. Let us know. Have pickup will travel. I think I can get there up 55 to St. Francisville since the Pont. Bridge will probably be closed.

still have power. LOL. When they get to 10 mph, we'll probably lose it.

9. Your laugh for the day
from www.crooksandliars.com

Sunday Bloopers-F-Bomb and drinking dogs.

(Update)-emailer Mike says:

Shepard Smith identified himself as from Fox news and said they were live on air, then asked a New Orleans man what he was still doing in the city. The man replied "None of your f--king business"

Video-QT ( hat tip Ian )

Video-WMP (video sent by The Political Teen)

Shepard: "Well that was a good answer wasn't it?

Now the other funny part was when he said:

Shepard: " I'm watching two dogs drink out of a glass of ice water, and it's none of my business why they are still here."

That's real reporting!

10. Good morning everyone
so far so good over here. Have a couple small tree branches down, but nothing bad. The weather channel says winds are 21 mph with gusts to 50 mph. My husband talked to his uncle about 2:00 am, but when he tried calling back just a little while ago the phone just rang and rang, so I think the phone lines are down, or the power is out. Very little rain here so far. Glad to see others checking in and all seems well.

19. Come home, Tony!
Yep, those clouds are trippy, aren't they?

You guys...did any of you see the CNN report just now, @ 8:30 a.m.? The CNN guy was interviewing 2 students on the LSU campus, 2 seniors, a boy and a girl. The boy had on a blue tee-shirt with a HUGE peace sign on it. I couldn't quite read the small writing under the peace sign...but I think it said Joe's Crab Shack. (?) That was so funny. When they interviewed him, they did a close up of his head, so you couldn't see the peace sign, but when they were interviewing the girl, you could see his shirt clearly. They asked him if his parents in shreveport had wanted him to come home, and he said "Absolutely NOT!" Lol.

22. I'm back home now !
Went to work and communications went down. BellSouth's phones were not forwarding properly, internet circuit down - blah.
Very few of the staff bothered showing up.
The cane fields have minimal damage too, from the 50 of them that I see on my way to work.

We're some lucky people in Vermilion and Lafayette parishes.
Thanks to everyone for the good vibes this way!

Thanks Tony and Kyle for phoning to check on me, I sure appreciated it. Finecraft, have you heard anything from N.O.?

over N.O. Metarie and Kenner completely flooded...looks like a lake with rooftops. Roof off of the race track...the yacht club on fire, sailboats tossed together like toys....downtown around Super Dome not flooded but much damage...all windowns of backside of Hyatt Regency blown out. It is a long trip, filmed by someone in a helicopter...they'll probably show it again...the devastation is awesome, is mind-boggling. It's 7:17 p.m.
