KY GOP Chair indicted...woohoo
GOP chair, two officials indicted
Governor calls accusations 'unsupported'
By Jack Brammer, Ryan Alessi And John Cheves, HERALD-LEADER FRANKFORT BUREAU
Kentucky Republican Party Chairman Darrell Brock Jr. and two officials in Gov. Ernie Fletcher's administration were indicted by a special Franklin County grand jury in an ongoing investigation of personnel action by the administration.

Also a big for profit corrections company gets a estimated $7.9 million contract to run a new jail in a southern KY County. This Tennessee company donated $200k Republicans Mitch McConnell and Anne Northrup.

"I'm always concerned about putting a prison population in the hands of a for-profit corporation, when you start thinking about the inmates' food, health care and safety," said Rep. Robin Webb, D-Grayson, a member of the House budget subcommittee that funds the prison system.

"With CCA, you have to look especially because of its political ties," Webb said. "Privatization is payback, it's political patronage, let's face it, and that troubles me."

So much for Fletcher's promise to clean up Frankfort. Put a republican in once every 20 years and they're more corrupt than the past 20 years of democrat rule.

1. What made my day
was hearing about the "Buckwheat" email. Offensive as it is, and I do not condone the message or the sentiment, but rumor has it that in discussing the DOT affirmative action gap, one offical writes to another "so I guess we have to hire a bunch of buckwheats?" I can't imagine anything more offensive, arrogant, and racist. Will it hit the news?
