WAVE 3 TV is at it again - now using to Dave Ramsey to shill for Chimpy
Dave Ramsey is a repug money "expert" who has a daily radio show that advises financial solvency using all the repug talking points and prayer. Of course, Ramsey is a born again who has relied on the bankruptcy laws to recovery from "his own bad decisions in life" and become a millionaire by offering his brand of advise. According to Ramsey there is nothing you can't fix with one of his books and seminars and praying. (I guess to Ramsey debt is bad unless it is the American government and then deficits are just okie dokie for the American people.)

Wave 3 TV is running a special next week to "do the numbers" on Social Security reform and they are going to the "expert" for a translation of what it all means. In the promo they then play a quick clip of Ramsey saying a person who makes minimum wage can save a million dollars under the new Social Security plan.

WAVE 3's GM is a Chimpy shill of the highest order. Will be interesting to see if they honestly try to "do the numbers" or just push the agenda for the GOP, yet again.

1. There is one break I will have to give Dave.
I used to listen to him and the other two guys when they first started their radio show here locally. I agreed with the whole premise of their show at the time - avoid credit cards, get out of debt, live below your means, etc. It gradually got political and the other two guys backed out of the show and now it is just Dave. I hated all the right wing crap and basically his show got redundant after awhile. However, the other day I was in the car and came across his channel and he was doing a big rant on the bankruptcy bill and how it was the most horrible thing they have done and basically there will be hell to pay and it will only hurt the average person and be a big paycheck to the credit card companies. I was absolutely stunned to hear that come out of his mouth so I am trying to give him a little bit of a break lately. But yes, he does hawk his stuff.

2. Oh, I saw an interview they did of Dave while flipping channels.
I heard that part about the million dollars and was just dumbfounded.

I gave up watching WAVE 3 after that hit piece they did on Michael Moore but did happen to catch that while flipping channels the other day.

I wonder why they still have Chris Parenti on there. Dude's gay as they come. You'd think a big Bush-God fanboi like the GM wouldn't want any gays on his staff. Unles....

3. WAVE is worse than a Sinclair station...
I thought the Sinclair stations were bad, but I'm beginning to believe WAVE is even worse. WAVE continues to feed BLATENT right-wing propaganda into their newscasts time and time again, telling their viewers how to think. And is that Hot Button program still airing Sunday mornings? It would be a decent program if the moderator (Scott Reynolds) of the "debate" program wasn't such a radical right-wing nut (that is according to people close to Scott).

4. a million dollars when I retire will be worth
maybe 100,000 if the current inflation keeps happening. So maybe Dave is right. How long will this 100,000 last me after my prescription drugs and doctor bills?

Dave is completely unrealistic. I have also heard him on the radio telling people just to tell the credit card companies they can't pay them this month. I did that once and then my rate went up 5 points. Dave doesn't always give the best advice. Regardless, he is a millionare, he got there through dealing with people like a used car salesman. Hence, never trust a used car salesman or Dave Ramsey.
