Jim Slattery needs our help - please contact the media

Pat Roberts has been refusing to debate Jim Slattery. He finally agreed to a debate but you have to PAY to go see it and there is NO TV coverage.

To summarize, Roberts agreed to debate Slattery under the following conditions:

1) The debate occurs mid-week, mid-day – Wednesday, Oct 15th.

2) It is essentially a “Pay-Per-View” event with Kansans being forced to pay $39.00 to attend!

3) NO MEDIA ALLOWED IN!!!!!

We should be incensed at these pre-conditions that the Roberts team has forced on us. Clearly, he doesn’t feel an open debate, with media attending, would benefit his position. He knows that Slattery is a strong opponent with a clear, decisive message and he doesn’t want to give Kansans the opportunity to see the contrast between the two.

i thought you were suppose to tell people how you felt and what you are going to do not hide like roberts wants to do

2. Roberts has never been very transparent

He is far too comfortable and needs to be held accountable. Of course, if he hides from his constituents, that is pretty hard to do.
