Texas is so fucking lucky
They just got a new Democratic Party member - in 18 years. My brother from Texas just called to tell me that he and his wife had a baby daughter yesterday. She was due Nov. 11th but there some complications and they had to induce labor yesterday. Mom and baby are doing fine.

1. Congratulations!
We could use her here but Texas needs her too.

2. Thanks
I agree and they have talked about it but they can't. The company my brother worked for wanted to transfer him to the Overland Park office but he said no. My sister-in-law has two kids from a previous marriage. They have all worked very hard to make sure the kids maintain a relationship with their dad and his family. They want to move but don't want to take the kids away from the rest of their family.

3. Good for them.
That must be very difficult to be divorced and still maintain a working relationship for the kids.

4. Thankfully everyone has remained friends
and they are all active in the kid's lives. They don't want to uproot the kids away from their dad and his family nor from her family in the area. My brother has convinced his step-kids that KU is the school they want to go to. They've become Jayhawks and might end up here on their own.
