08/15/2005 poll has Bush aproval at 46% in Kansas, 50% disapprove.

Doesn't that make us a temporary Blue state!?

7. "Go Big Blue"
used to be a common button around the campus in the 70's. I've got a few of them somewhere in the garage.

I definitely think we need to go retro and resurrect them.

3. Et Tu Kansas? Then fall *
Hell he's better invade both Iran and Korea to get his numbers back up - I mean he's running out of places to find crowds of followers to look at him adoringly.

Side note - have we ever had a president that was this much of a narcissist? All his comments are about him, never the country or the people, he always talks about himself how he needs to bike or whatever. It's just another creepy thing about him.

5. Sedgwick County Democrats!!
This is an incredible organization which I had the honor of being associated with in the late 80's and 90's. With the largest city in the state, Wichita, this county party has a permanent 12 mo/yr headquarters with a permanent paid executive director. They are an incredibly industrious group who don't let defeat get them down. They simply move on to the next task and take it on with the same gusto.

The other very active counties include Shawnee (Topeka), Douglas (Lawrence), Riley (Manhattan), and the Kansas City area counties, Atchison, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Wyandotte and Johnson.

I'm sure there are others, too. These are the main population centers, all which have capability to turn out Dem voters. They are all very well organized, that's why they keep winning offices like the governorship.

10. KCK is blue
I don't know where Ripple is from, but don't forget the good people of Wyandotte County, who went for Kerry over Bush by almost 2-to-1. Percentage-wise, that's bluer than Douglas County.

11. 29% of Conservatives disapprove - looks like a good sign, but I would
like to know why in the hell 19% of "Liberals" approve...WTF?? I am not getting *too* excited because Kansas still seems pretty red to me. There seems to be hope that some people are finally waking up to reality, though!

12. This would be a good opportunity for a focus group
Simply put, we need to gather a bunch of people from states like Kansas and say "Okay, so you don't approve of the job that George Bush is doing but you guys voted for him twice. WHAT exactly do you want in a President?"
