Double L Phill loses in state Supreme Court ruling
Gag Order Over Clinic Records Lifted; Kline Says Victims In Danger
March 10, 2005, 06:01 PM CST

By JOHN HANNA
Associated Press Writer

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- The Kansas Supreme Court has lifted a gag order covering Attorney General Phill Kline's pursuit of records from two abortion clinics, and Kline said Thursday the decision could harm child rape victims.

The gag order was imposed last year by a Shawnee County district judge who issued subpoenas for the records of 90 patients from the still-unknown clinics. Kline said the records contain information that will help him pursue child rapes and potentially illegal late-term abortions.

<snip>

"You can sue me, and I'm not going to provide you the names of these people, and besides, I probably won't get them," Kline told reporters and editors gathered for an annual Day at the Legislature program sponsored by AP and the Kansas Press Association.

He added: "Forget about Phill Kline being pro-life. Forget about Phill Kline being a religious, right-wing wacko and focus on the issues. All the assaults on our position on this are assaults against me -- and this is not about me. It's not about me. It's about the law, and it's about protecting children, and it's about whether somebody is above the law or not."

Yeah, whatever you say Double L

6. I can think of no other explanation. Mind you... he barely beat some guy
for AG and no one even knew the other guy's name. People just knew they didn't want to vote for Phil Kline. So let him take on Gov Sebelius. She will kick his ass.

2. And sanity prevails!!!
quote"There's no reason for the clinics to do this," Kline said. "They are sowing fear, hysteria and terror."

No phill, I think you're the one doing that.

Nothing like using terroristic tactics to chip away at Roe V Wade.

10. We have had a few
little victories here lately but just wait, we are getting ready to fuck that all up pretty soon with the marriage amendment and our science standards. Still, it does feel good to finally win a few.

12. Actually yes I do think so.
I do think there is a small change here in Kansas. It is going to take a while to build but I am feeling a bit more positive. I think we will blow it for a while still but if Bush** keeps this up and our Reps keep supporting him I think it might change real fast. But, I have been so very wrong so many times that I hesitate to say much more.

14. I do love my state.
I was born here and I plan to die here. One of the most wonderful women I know is from Kentucky. Salt of the earth woman, as Kentucky as anyone could be. I have a great deal of feeling about your state because of her. Keep working at it, good people can be very confused but truth and justice will eventually win out.

17. He's right. It IS about whether somebody is above the law or not.
And you're not, Phill. :P I'm so relieved that the court thinks so, too!

19. If Phill is REALLY worried about underage sex
Then why doesn't he find out the names of all the fathers of babies born to underage teens who are not married?? Seems to me that he could do some prosecutions of older guys for having sex with underage teens and he would even find some incest going on. Ewwwwwwww No, the creep is after the rights of women to choose.

20. I over heard a great coversation in the halls at WSU today.
I walked past a group of young women waiting for a class room and they were talking about Phill Kline. One said he is a creep going after the private lives of women. Another said it just shows how much of pig he is since he doesn't care about the men involved. All of them were in agreement.

Made my heart smile. :)
