No matter who is announced as the winner of the Democratic gubernatorial primary, how are we going to repair the damage which has been done?
In the past two weeks, I've heard both Blouin and Culver supporters state that they will not be able to support the opposite side if the other wins the primary. Further, there have been thinly veiled threats passed about (i.e., You better hope Culver doesn't win because there is no way labor is going to support him.)
It didn't have to be this way... and it wasn't this way until the mud starting slinging and everyone got their emotions so bent out of shape. Since so many of our elected officials have decided to stick their noses into this primary, I truly wish they would have also stuck in their foot. That is, they *all* should have put their feet down about the attacks which have gone back and forth. Is the Governor's office worth our party being split in this fashion? Is any of this worth us tearing each other apart?
