Again I ask help to bring progressive radio to eastern & central
Edited on Thu Mar-09-06 04:10 PM by rurallib
Iowa. Specifically the Iowa City/ Cedar Rapids area.
We seem to be making some inroads with the powers that be at Clear Channel. I have been working with the midwest marketing director of AAR. He said we have gotten their attention. However we need to switch focus to the programming director. We would appreciate snail mails and emails be sent to illustrate the desire for progressive radio for the CR/ IC area. So if you live, work or vist this area we really need your help.
Some simple rules:
1) Be respectful
2) state your name and address.
3) How progressive radio in this area would be good for you
4) How progressive radio would be a business success for Clear Channel.
5) Remember, CC is a business and this must be seen as a good opportunity for them.

here is the email and snail mail for Mr. J.J. Cook (program director for Clear Channel eastern Iowa)
jjcook@clearchannel.com

J.J. Cook
c/o KXIC radio
3365 NE Dubuque St.
Iowa City, Iowa 52240

We would like to see KXIC as the station they pick, but it is their choice. Suggesting KXIC wouldn't hurt.

Thank you for your help.
If anyone in the Des Moines area is considering starting up a group to bring preogressive radio to that area, PM me and I can tell you what we have done so far.

1. I'm in CR and I will certainly send him an e-mail.
What stations do you think we have the best chance with?

What have you learned about the CR/IC market?

I did a quick search and found this showing the owners and stations in the area.

You probably already have it.

Have you sent this info to the Linn County Dems or the local DFA?

Great work! Thanks.

2. Thanks fo asking I forgot to put that in the post
We want KXIC. It is located in Iowa City and covers the area including CR both day and night. Clear Channel has a dog called KMJM (1360 am) that they may flip. KMJM can't be received in Iowa City after dark.
So if you could specify KXIC. But remember, it is their business and their choice.
