Nussle proposes summit on energy - DM Register
Republican candidate for Iowa governor Jim Nussle on Wednesday proposed hosting a national energy summit in Iowa to draw attention to the state's potential as a renewable energy producer. Nussle campaign aides said there was no date or location set for the proposed meeting of government officials and key leaders in the technology and industrial sectors of renewable energy.

The congressman from Manchester had invited Bill Ford, CEO of Ford Motor Co., to Iowa to discuss the state's ethanol production as a way of promoting the manufacture of cars that run on an 85 percent blend of the corn-based fuel additive.

Nussle also has proposed mandating that all gasoline sold in Iowa contain ethanol.

3. Fallon has pushed alternative energy very hard.
I don't read the Register, But I'd be willing to bet that the Nussle to Fallon ration of stories is probably 10 to 1.

4. Yeah..my point exactly.
In my opinion Culver has stood out very well for his ideas on alternative energy and has even talked about wanting Iowa to be a hub for alternative technologies/ethanol yadda yadda..

5. Any idea what Nussle's role was in the recent energy bill?
The gigantic giveaway to the oil companies? Did Nussle champion it? I am sure he voted for it. Leach ran around our district saying what a good bill it was because it had a crumb for wind power and ethanol.
