Culver stands out on Iowa Press

Chet Culver the gubernatorial candidate for the Democratic bid surprised many during Iowa Press. Culver often ridiculed on being a poor public speaker, shocked many with his confident presence and substantive economic plan. Culver outlined many facts giving Iowans insight on his economic plan. Leading Iowa forward and his phrase fueling the world is having a nice ring to it, especially after hearing an actual plan. I hope more candidates feel its time to present some details on where they see Iowa going. As of right now, Culver has both proved he can deliver great in front of the press and he has a plan for Iowa with substance and vision.

What are the rest of Democrats views?

1. Blouin seems like a good labor type candidate
I asked him point blank about raising the minimum wage and keeping companies in Iowa and providing good paying jobs. He said he is in favor of raising the minimum wage and would fight like hell to keep the good paying manufacturing jobs in Iowa by preventing brain drain and providing low cost educational opportunities for Iowans as well as other things. Will I vote for him? I am not sure yet. Just passing along what he said while here in Davenport a couple of weeks ago.

3. Blouin is almost guaranteed the support of the UAW
because of Vilsack. He'd better not sway from any pro-labor stances or he'll risk losing what is almost a sure thing.

Culver keeps hitting him on PLA's (or lack thereof) and Values fund $$ (also on how many union jobs the Values Fund got Iowa or kept in Iowa). Wish I had more info on this so I didn't just sound like a harpie snapping at Blouin......let me keep looking.

4. Blouin on minimum wage
I'll look for the article, but I remember Blouin being quoted for saying that the minimum wage is irrelvant to Iowas growth.

I'll look for those articles and try to post them.

2. That's great to hear about Culver
His campaign felt good about his Iowa Press appearance, but I haven't had an opportunity to see any transcripts or see the actual program...any links?
