Channel 6 news from Davenport
just did a report on the pro-war people. Said there were about 100 people there. Said there were 100,000 at the anti-war protest.
Did they do a report of the anti-war protest before this?

I had watched the CR station and there was no mention of it.

1. call the station and tell them that you are not pleased with the one-sided
coverage--SURELY the fact that over 100,000 peace people showed up from all around the country ought to merit decent coverage.

I am on the phone constantly with the local rag, strongly criticizing them for their lousy coverage of the peace movement, etc. And on the rare occasion on which they actually do some decent coverage, I praise them. One of these days, they MIGHT get the message.

Don't forget, one can always file a letter with the FCC about their one-sided coverage. Not that it makes much difference these days, but it used to be a rather handy little thing to mention to them.

3. I didn't see if there was any coverage last night.
That's why I was wondering. Just the tone of voice led me to believe they were kind of making fun of the pro-war. Said it was "supposed" to be the answer to the anti-war and about 100 people showed up.
I've sent several e-mails when I think they are biased. Just can't let it go anymore. :D

2. Screw the local and national media.
Publish pictures and articles in the local alternative rags, send them in to national progressive pubs. If they don't have room in the print versions, they could end up on web sites. We are the press, now. Where do you get your news?

4. Sounds like they told the truth, when they got around to doing it.
That's something, at least.

5. I rarely watch TV 6 News anymore
They are not a real good news station anymore. Any station that has Paula Sands as an anchor cannot be a serious player in any news scene. Watch Channel 8, WQAD instead. Much better reporting. But the Quad-City Times had a FRONT PAGE article on Saturday about the Peace Bus which was headed for DC from Davenport. It is a good paper. Compared to the CR Gazette or any other paper in Iowa that I know of, they are the most liberal. I will dig around and see if I can find a link to the story. My copy is already in the recycling bin.
