Went for a ride this morning

Last fall my dad and uncle got a semi and grain trailer to help haul corn around - they grow a lot more than can be fed to the cattle these days. A couple weeks ago mom went with dad for a ride in the semi, and I said I wanted to go too sometime. So my chance came this morning. I didn't have to work today so I went for a ride in the semi out to the Dyersville ethanol plant.





We took about 26 tons of corn out there, or 933 bushels.

1. Ay idea what the ethanol situation is? Too much or is it in great demand?

I had two conversations last week. I haven't paid hat close of attention recently.
One guy said they can't make enough ethanol, the other said that there is much more than can be used being made.
I know several plants either closed or were never open
What do you know?

2. Not really

I haven't followed it that closely since I work outside the farm. The pricing is attractive enough that my dad and uncle are selling it to the ethanol plant instead of the grain elevator in Dubuque.
