Gronstal rules out gay marriage debate
Senate Majority Leader Michael Gronstal has ruled out having a debate on gay marriage in the upcoming session of Iowa Senate.

Senate Majority Leader Michael Gronstal says the session will focus on balancing the budget and creating jobs. Gronstal says gay marriage doesn't make the list of priorities in a session that leaders have agreed to limit to 80 days to save money.

As majority leader, the Council Bluffs Democrat controls the debate schedules. His decision means the soonest voters could cast ballots on the issue would be the general election of 2014.

For Senator Gronstal, I would like to take this opportunity to offer my own personal thumbs up.

1. Yay Gronstal
Gronstal is very dead set on not letting a debate happen. I heard he had to pull of on the shoulder on I35 because he was so overwhelmed last April when the decision was handed down.
Thank you, Senator G.
Oh BTW i believe marriage equality was #10 on a list of things Iowans care about. Waaaaay down there.
