So...this is what it's like to be in the majority...funny, it doesn't feel any different.

<snip>

The House met in a rare Friday session to debate the bill, which enjoyed support from organized labor. But ultimately, a group of five Democrats refused to lend their support to the bill Friday night.

One of those voting no was Rep. Doris Kelley, D-Waterloo, who said she’s never supported it.

“I think it’s wrong when we are focusing on labor bills right now when we should be focusing on how we’re going to turn this economy around and how we’re going to take care of all Iowans,” Kelley said.

Rep. Kelly must believe that union members don't work or live in Iowa :eyes:

Is this what the rest of the session is going to look like? Democrats defeating Democratic bills that support Iowans? *sigh*

1. This is a worker bill, not a union bill
So she is saying now is not the time to help workers.

5. I hope that's the case
Running w/a 'D' behind your name just to get elected should not cut it.

4. I am speechless. Isn't Murphy or someone supposed to explain
how these things work to people like her? Surely Repugs are dancing in the street having kept Iowa workers at a level a third below their neighbors. All those businesses will locate in Iowa and not in Illinois and Minne - WAIT a minute - no they won't.

6. I don't think Murphy is the problem
He can only work with the caucus he is given. We have a responsibility to give him Democrats.
