O'Reilly said the radio show, which he launched in May 2002, will end "in the first quarter of next year." Most of the time he saves, he said, will go into his top-rated Fox News Channel show.

"The media business is getting more and more intense," O'Reilly said Thursday. "We've got to keep the TV show at the level we have it now, and that means more and more time to keep it competitive and fresh. I've been working 60, 65 hours a week and I just can't keep doing that."

Let' suggest some enlightened replacements to our Iowa broadcasters

1. does anybody in Iowa even carry his program?

I suppose even Iowa has diseased spots.
They could do what one Iowa City station used to do and carry CNN TV on the radio. I think they just put a mic next to the TV and let it run all day. That was some brilliant programming and great use of precious public airwaves.

covers sw Iowa nw Missouri and se Nebraska. Comments to the daily poll question are shockingly right wing and scare the hell out of me

5. That's good news, but...

There's all sorts of other lying, no good, four flushing reich wing radio hosts out there blaring out their hatred of people who are one or more of the following;

A. Not of the same race as they are.
B. Not holding the same religious beliefs as they are, or not having any at all.
C. Actually give a good G-D about the environment.
D. Not having the same views on abortion as they do.
E. Not holding the same views on the poor and middle class that they do.
F. Supporting unions and the average working man and working woman.
G. Not having the same sexual orientation as they do.

I could go on for quite a while.
