Now I know why Iowa is voting for Obama
I read all about it on freerepublic:

--IA is all about the people of IA realising the danger of a Fauxbama administration is greater than the free check they get for farm subsidies. If they realize this IA will vote McCain, otherwise they’ll vote for subsidies. That’s why McCain is losing IA, has nothing to do with Fauxbama.

--I personally think IA is a lost cause due to the ethanol subsidy issue.

--McCain going against those {subsidies} kills in Iowa. They want free money thrown at them.

See? It's all about the corn $$$. :eyes:

2. As a teacher, I get asked how many farm kids I have in class by out of staters
I have been asked numerous times by people who live out of state how many farm kids I have in my classes. As an elementary teacher, I've had around 75 students the past 3 years and I had 2 that you could maybe consider farm kids. One's parents bought 4 acres, some chickens, and tried a hobby farm. The experiment lasted one year. The other is a Hispanic student whose family travels back and forth from Arizona and Iowa during the growing season and work in the farm fields. The student spends half the year in Iowa and half in Arizona.

Both families will never see any farm subsidies.

4. The irony is delicious
Alaskans getting oil money is a prime excuse given for Palin's popularity there, and here it's used as why we're voting for Obama.
