1. My coverage of Clark in Marion
Formal write-up of the event, focus on people who attended:

Video of Clark's remarks:

Also, I love this photo:

That's Rep. Swati Dandekar hugging Gen. Clark after she introduced him. It's pretty amazing to me how lucky you can sometimes get with a frame when you just hold up your camera and shoot.

2. Thank you!
I enjoyed the event. I don't think Wes changed many minds (all but a few - namely those of us that were Clark 04 people - were probably already Clinton supporters)...but I do think that Wes strengthened Clinton's support. After having spoke with a few members of the crowd I realize that Clark has more admirers in this area than I realized. It was a good feeling.

I wish they'd plan these things a little further in advance, and perhaps not hold them in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. I don't think the daytime-weekday arrangement lends itself to swaying minds very well.

Oh and thanks for the sharpie! I have to say, that's the first time I've ever asked anyone to sign anything and it made me feel a little silly. I suppose if I am going to be silly for someone though Clark is the guy. ha ha.

6. Oh My God
You know, I get the fact that Gordon is out there pitching for his guy, but does he really think trashing an American General is going to win him points?

But my largest issue with it -- and I'd post it for Gordon to read if he actually allowed comments on his blog (instead of email correspondence) -- is that his guy may not turn out to be "the" guy. When everything is said and done, Gordon would do well to remember that he is a very vocal and recognizable past representative of the Iowa Democratic Party, the same body that's going to be fighting like hell in either 4 or 8 years to remain first in the nation.

7. Do we need to rehash how much Gordon's last 'guy' did
to protect Iowa's position in the nominating process?

3. Aw....
That's a great write up...a great video...and a truly wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing that.

I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of posting a blog about your account, video and photo on Wes Clark's blog at securingamerica.com/ccn.

You Iowans are too lucky. :P

4. Iowans are blessed
And don't think that we don't know it.

That was the first time I'd seen Clark in several years -- he's looking good and remains a fantastic public speaker. Clinton is lucky to have him as a surrogate.

I'm glad you enjoyed the write-up and picked it up for your blog. I'm also glad I had the video of his remarks to go along with the article. My focus lately has been on crowd reaction more than on what the candidates have to say -- unless the candidates/surrogates say something new or unusual.
