They're like every other plate on the road! Plus, the worst, most aggressive, loudest drivers always have them!

4. I've often thought about...
carrying a supply of the "universal NO" sign stick-ons and plastering one on every car that has that license plate. It really pisses me off that we have to pay extra for a personalized plate or a college plate, etc., yet these hypocrites get their bogus plate for free.

Ham radio operators only have to pay $8 extra for their call sign plates.

5. I embrace them now
They're not an endorsement of religion - they're Idiot Driver Identification Tags. Every moron who cuts me off, drives like a lunatic, etc., seems to have one of those on their car, so I know to get the hell out of the way.

14. isn't that the truth...
It is a clear indication of "caution: delusional idiot, who should not be driving, is operating this vehicle."

6. I agree that they are poor drivers
I agree that they are poor drivers but I'd like to see a breakdown on trafic violations compairing the God plates to other plates. It's my guess that the God plate drivers would have fewer tickets than the public because the cops ignore their violations.

8. Yes!
They can't drive and are rude.

Isn't there a separation of church and state in Indiana?
Why is the fish emblem that many plaster on their cars not good enough for them now?

9. CFI Indy has a solution..
for 10 bucks you can get a licenes plate frame that reads "Support Science and Reason". or something along those lines.

I was told that there are so many of those plates because people are not being informed that they have another option, is that correct?

I live in Terre Haute and I feel like the only Atheist in town.

17. BMV pushes them
I just licensed two vehicles in the last few months. Both times I was offered a choice between the standard plate and "In God We Trust", accompanied by a "look" that implied that i should really go for the god plates.

The second time, they even tried for confusion. "Would you like the "In God We Trust" plate or the "passenger" plate?

Fortunately I knew what they were up to.

But what the hell is a "passenger" plate?

I have also heard stories of people being offered the "blue" plate or the "green and white" plate.

UGH.

12. And I thought it was the Michigan folks...
Who drove bad. Seriously, today someone didn't even bother stopping at a stop sign this afternoon and... it was an "in God We Trust" plate. I flashed my lights at the person... and it ended up being someone who lived on my street!!!

I am amazed at the amount of Churches here. We just moved here a year and a half ago and I cannot believe how many people have asked us if we have found a church yet or invited us to their church.

I was raised a catholic, I don't really practice or go to church. It amazed me how bad these "religious" people act compared to the people I know who are not religious.

15. I forgot to mention that! - and used car dealers
Ton's of food! Fast Food! I'm just glad me and my wife have those 'old fashion' values of a home cooked meal! :-)

We occasionally go out an try a new restaraunt, it's best to go when there is a Notre Dame game in progress as all the stores and restaraunts are empty!

What's with all the used car dealers?

20. I saw a Star letter to the editor in which this guy claimed it made him giddy
to think how much the "God" plates annoyed liberals.

I prepared a response, but have been too shy to send it in:

"I would suspect that someone who adorns his automobile with a tin plate bearing the written name of the Lord and an image of the American flag, subjecting both to wind, rain, snow, sleet, mud, road grime, collisions and the occasional long-legged dog has no knowledge of what constitutes sanctity or respect. To be told by this person that he gets satisfaction because the plate irritates those with whom he disagrees politically suggests he has no knowledge of what constitutes faith or grace."

21. That annoys the hell out of me!
Edited on Wed Nov-14-07 04:21 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
And I'm a Christian!

Reasons why those plates drive me loopy:

1.) Some drivers seem to take it as a license to drive like James Bond. I guess since they have "trusted in god" they assume they're covered. F--k you you atheist heathen, HERE I COME!

2.) I wouldn't be so annoyed if they were pay plates. I somehow doubt that "Praise Allah" plates would be allowed, much less free.

3.) Every yahoo that has one of these plates seems to be of the mind that this is a "Christian nation". :puke: Try 1956 pal.

And sure enough when I went to write down her plate number it was an "In God We Trust" plate. I'd bet money that they have higher accident rates than normal drivers.

24. One constant...
Is that if you're following a car with an "In God We Trust" license plate near a Cracker Barrel, it will ALWAYS turn into the parking lot.

it's state law, I swear to God it is.
