1. Only if they send me a ticket
Harold Ford is an opportunist who makes my skin crawl.

2. So you don't support Hoosier Democrats?
That's too bad because we need Democrats in this state.

Anyone here a member of the Democratic Party in Indiana? Going to the convention?

3. Um, Dear ... WE were there in 2003 when Bayh & Dean spoke.
And Peterson.
And O'Bannon.
And Vi Simpson.
Ran a booth. Greeted guests.
Signed up volunteers, passed out literature and answered questions for the Dean Campaign.

And you were ... where?

I'd be a little careful about attacking folks on this forum because they don't happen to support the same folks you do.

Just because they have a (D) behind their name, doesn't mean they're a Godsend.

5. Thank you
If my post came across indignent I apologise. I just wondered if anyone was going. I could care less who you support or don't support. Since I have posted here folks have been very rude to me because of who I support. And yes I've been a Democrat for a long time. Love Dean! Support Dean. Just because I have had differing experiences from others here doesn't mean I am closed minded. Thanks for your response.

6. Welcome to DU
Its an active board in awful times and everyone either gets testy or seems testy now and again. No harm, no foul and WELCOME. We need all the Hoosier Democrats we can get.

8. Thanks
I'm very excited to be attending both of these venues. Hopefully. Someone asked where I was for the last convention. I was in a wheel chair. I have a very uncommon and extremely painful disability. After years of work, living in pain 24/7 and with the support of my family and yes, our U.S. Senators, I am able to walk and function fairly normally again. I advocate for others with the same diagnosis and advocate for all of those in pain as they cannot advocate for themselves. This will be the only time I discuss my disability because I don't want anyone's pity. So being able to attend these venues is a real treat for me! :)

I wish I could attend more peace marches but I'm not able to handle that yet. Maybe some day. In the meantime I will do all I can to support the efforts of others who are able to walk and stand for peace.

4. I will most likely be at the Convention
as a delegate, just like I was at the last one. With any luck as a precinct comitteeman as well. I am a Hoosier Democrat but I don't go for grip and grin parties that just raise money for people who aren't going to represent my interests. And as Hippiechick has pointed out, I have been to the JJ before, I've been to the I.D.E.A. down in French Lick, been there and done all of that high profile/do nothing crap. If I get elected, I will help to make this party work instead of preen.

10. $100 per ticket! Who do you think we are?
That amount may seem modest to you and your circle of friends, but to many of us, it is a week's of grocery money and that's by wise use of coupons.

7. Generally go to the JJ event in Monroe County
Edited on Tue Mar-28-06 10:14 AM by salin
which is a little later in the year. Though this year will be sad, earlier we lost Frank McClosky, and during this past year we lost his wife as well. They were a big presence - even long after he no longer held political office.
