My friend had to go to the Bush Fundraiser dinner on Friday
Her company is a heavy supporter of republicans and her position in the company places her in a compromising political position; mostly because the President of the company is an unfortunate pig and tells everyone the republicans are good for their business. Anyway, she had some fun stuff to report. For the most part she sat in disbelief as to the local republican agenda. She's never seen so much bigotry. Anyway...It seems the wool is being lifted because throughout the president's speech there were murmers such as "This guy is a moron" and "I can't believe he just said that." Stuff like that. Most of it had to do with Bush pretending to be really good friends with a few local Republicans I can't remember the second guys name, but he said something to the effect "It's good to have support from the Hispanic community, with good folks like my good friend X." X was a man who is not a member of the latino community and everyone in the room knew it because X is apparently a big republican businessman that I was supposed to have known. His name just happens to sound very near a spanish name, but I believe she said he's Italian. But the kicker was what came just before that statement: Bush says "my good friend Mitch and his wonderful family, his four children are just lovely." Well Mitch has three kids as far as everyone in the room knew...and at that point people were looking around at each other. Couple that and the comment about the faux-latino her boss the pig was the first to let out "This guy is a moron."

Anyway she couldn't help but laugh and it made for a good story last night at the bar. Thought I'd share. The irony is, every battle cry he made was met with applause. Blood thristy bigots is about the only way to describe it.
