Every single congressional district
.presently represented by a Republican should be challanged and I believe those seats could be filled by Democrats..But we have to encourage qualified candidates to run..the time to do this is now..

1. I agree with you
But who will we get to run. Myself, I am not to fond of Bayh as I believe him to be two faced, but he is all we have right now. I'd prefer to see Mitch ran out of Indy on a rail. Ha! Ha!

2. I predict Mitch WILL be run out (not on a rail) - but that the gop senate
will remain. Mitch pushed for a quickie win on DLS (ala - see no one else could solve this problem that has been up for discussion for 20 years - see how great I am?!) - but to do so let the bill be very vague (no assigned time zone -and an out for counties to "choose" - which now appears to be making up for a strange patchwork of time zones throughout the state - not just in border areas.) Also the 'tax compromise' - ala cut education but put in a provision for locals to raise property taxes enough to offset the state cut = tax shift which won't set well with folks who have been fueled on anti property tax rhetoric for years.

But I fear they will throwout the bath water (mitch) but leave the baby (indiana gop) in the tub to thrive.

5. Speaking of Mitch
.since the state switched over to computerized drawing on daily games I sincerely question the validity and honesty of those drawing..Perhaps thats Daniels plan to get the state back in the black by choosing a Lottery Commissioner that is limiting the number of winners on daily games

3. Let Me Start with
Mark Sauder,5th district congressman. This guy is such a Bushie shadow..... he could be defeated but I think his treasure chest is pretty full. I dont believe he is that popular but the issues will defeat him if the right candidate can bring them into the spotlight.

7. They are all ripe for plucking if the DNC provides some support
this time. Now that I'm back in Indiana I tell them not another dime until they start to show their faces in the districts. Carville was in E-ville a couple of weeks ago. I hope it continues.

10. Three people have expressed intentions to run against
Souder, one is an ex-Republican, one is currently an Allen County Commissioner, the other is a preacher. The commissioner seems to have the most support so far.

8. If you need more info on Chocola...
... I grew up living next door to him and we both did yardwork together for his uncle there when we were kids...

6. Brad Ellsworth vs. John Hostetler it seems in the 8th.
Don't know much about him. I'd hope one day Trent Van Haaften will throw his hat in the national ring.

9. Challenger in the 9th CD
Edited on Thu Nov-03-05 07:30 PM by Daylin Byak
It appears that Baron Hill will be challenging Mike Sodrel.

Hill, a former congressman who was beaten by Sodrel last year by a precentage of 49 returns for one more year.

for the last 2 elections(now 3) these 2 have been challenging eact other in the 9th.

And please note that Sodrel is valuerable in his district cause he is the only guy in all of the congressional races that won with less than 50 percent of the votes(I would know, i have a congressional directory)
