Update on bi-polar brother-in-law facing deployment
My brother-in-law reported to his CO at base yesterday and informed the military of his medical diagnosis. The military yawned (basically) and began a review process. Meanwhile they sent my brother-in-law on to training.

The family is mobilizing now to put up a fight while he trains and the military "reviews." Papers have been signed to release medical records to his parents who will then distribute vital info to the rest of us. As soon as we have the details (date of diagnosis, doctors, etc.) we'll start making those calls to state and national reps.

Thanks again to all who replied to my OP and provided good advice and support. I'll post updates as the situation changes.

1. Sending best wishes your way
that with the documentation in hand - and the information going to those who are supposed to representus - that this situation may be resolved (as in not being sent to Iraq) with the silver lining that perhaps this ordeal leads to real treatment for your brother-in-law.

(((:hugs:)))
