From e-mail alert:
Hi folks:
I think we now have solid plans for Cindy's bus visit (though which Indiana city will have a side visit on Tuesday morning is still not clear). Feedback welcome. I will send the Peace/Justice Feature soon
The Bring Them Home Now bus tour will arrive in Indianapolis around 3 pm on Mon. Sept. 5 (Labor Day). There will be 7-9 people on the bus, including several whose sons have been killed in Iraq; word is that Cindy Sheehan herself will be on the bus that takes the southern route from Crawford TX to Washington DC. A few of us will meet the bus riders when they arrive. Then we will have a Meet-The-Bus rally at 4 pm outside North Meadow Circle of Friends, 1710 N. Talbott (Talbott is between Pennsylvania and Delaware) and hear from the bus riders and a few others. Following that, we will have a pitch-in dinner at North Meadow.
On Tuesday morning, it is likely that the bus tour will go to Bloomington (or to West Lafayette instead). In the afternoon at 3 pm, we will hold a press conference at North Meadow Circle of Friends, 1710 N. Talbott enabling the bus riders to be interviewed. On Tuesday evening at 7 pm, we will have a rally to open our own Camp Casey surrounded by 51 crosses for Indiana servicepeople killed in the war on Iraq. The camp is located on the triangle plot on Fall Creek Blvd. northeast of Broadway United Methodist Church on 29th St. Camp Casey will promote bringing the war to an end and will be in operation until the big rally in Washington DC on Sept. 24 (we will have our own interfaith service in the late afternoon on Sun. Sept. 25).
We will try to meet with Senators Lugar and Bayh on Wed. morning. The bus will leave again on Wed. at noon. We will have a send-off rally at 11 am in front of Monument Circle before the bus departs. Jim
