Spotlight Players announces its production of "The Laramie Project" by Moisés Kaufman and the Members of the Tectonic Theater Project, directed by Mac Bellner.
A docudrama about the 1998 beating and murder of a gay University of Wyoming freshman Matthew Shepard, it is a story of great sadness, great beauty, and, most importantly, of great revelation about our nation, about our ideas, and about ourselves.
This moving drama does much to put a human face on the victim, and on all those affected by his murder - including those who committed it. The characters are distillations of about 200 people whom the theater company interviewed over a one-year period in Laramie, Wyoming.
