Are there lots of things to do? Cultural activities? If you live there, do you like it? A company there requested my husband's resume, and neither of us have ever been or know anything about that area, and we'd like to have an idea before we consider it. We live in Memphis now.

1. Fort Wayne, eh?
I do. It's ok, I suppose. Not bad or anything, just not like "Ohh yay!"
Though we were recently named The Dumbest City in the US...
mainly because it used to be a big manufacturing area and so they're aren't a lot of upper class people. You can check out www.fortwayne.com for more info.

2. Thanks.
We've now decided not to pursue that job, so no move to Fort Wayne in the foreseeable future. I do appreciate the response :hi:

5. FW
I grew up about 30 minutes in a small town. Fort Wayne is definitely a cheap place to live and it does offer some nice cultural aspects for a city of 300,000 (a nice arts museum, a nice community theatre, another theatre large enough to host some touring Broadway shows, and so on). It also has a couple of decent minor league teams (baseball and hockey). However, it is fairly Republican.

Fort Wayne also has (at least) four universities, including IPFW, so if you want to take classes, it's convenient. The campus has a cutting-edge theatre too. It has showed its share of "controversial" plays to get people thinking.

If you do consider moving, I can hook you up with a few diehard progressives.
