Our Bitch Mitch: Not one thin dime for Amtrak...
"It'd be cheaper to buy them airline tickets"

OK, Mitch, so you're gonna buy my daughter a charter flight from Chicago to Lafayette when she wants to come visit?

Guess she won't be coming down to visit her dear old dad anymore, since she chooses not to participate in the "Automobile Death Cult" by not having a car. More hardship for those who can least afford it.

What a fake POS. "Just call me Mitch", and "Look-I ride around in a camper, I'm JUST LIKE Y'ALL!". Fuck-tard.

He goes home at the end of the day and tells his manservant "Get this 'Carhart' shit off of me! I can't see how anyone actually LIKES wearing this heavy rough shit. Get me a drink, Jeffries!"

"Very Good, Sir...Dinner at 8 at St. Moritz, and a reception at 10 with the Simon Brothers..."

1. Amtrack needs to be funded more, not less.
Our car-centered culture won't be feasible forever. We should be funding Amtrack more now, rather than cutting all Government fundding.

2. Preaching to the choir here.
I hear ya loud and clear!
I have not heard anything since the Coronation of OBM about the proposed high-speed rail service they were working on to link Indy-Cincy-Windy and other places.

And they wonder why our young people can't WAIT to get the hell out of here.

More bicycles, too. We need more bikes and more places to ride them and park them, and more workplaces that make it easy to "freshen up" when you ride to work.

Make it easier for kids to ride to school, even though this will require a tremendous effort to re-educate the SUV moms who think they need a 4-ton tank to transport their "Golden Child" in predator-free safety to school....

Back in the day whan the rail line out my front door was run by the Monon instead of SUX, uh, CSX, there were SIX round trips daily between Chicago and Indy. With club car and diner service. Now you can't even get a fuckin' PILLOW on aflying cattle-car!

6. Suck Up to Big Oil
And plus, the roads around lafayette suck. Bitch Daniels should at least build a real freeway (instead of the pussy-ass "Corridor" which is like any old street). It's not a sell out to roads, but a sell out to Big Oil. Instead of developing a fast, electric train system (like Europe), the Retardicans are focused on sucking Big Saudi Oil cock and funding airplanes and highways. The Retardicans will push oil even when the going price is $100 / gallon.

3. They'll keep the eastern corridor running
The DC/Baltimore/NY/Providence/Boston trains are always packed. It's the western routes that are the big money losers. Funny, though--whenever the Amtrak thing comes up, nobody talks about all the ways the government subsidizes the airline industry. It'd be interesting to do a comparative, dollars-per-passenger study. I'll bet you'd find that Amtrak was a relative bargain.

4. what western routes?
If Amtrak was serious about gaining ridership outside of the eastern corridor, it would offer east-west routes instead of north-south ones. The few east-west routes that it does have are continually cut back.

5. Probably cheaper to buy everyone an Amtrak ticket.
But we don't talk about how much the Government gives out in Welfare to those rich airline CEO's who raised billions for the GOP and Shrub Warchest....

And everyone has forgotten that as Budget Dude for the Chimp, OBM presided over the beginning of our long slide into deficit...Can we expect any different for Indiana? I doubt it.

Indiana is always the "Test Market" for whatever crazy schemes they think up in marketing. I think they'll see how Wal-Mart Indentured Servitude will play here first before they spring it on the rest of the country.

And we'll be OK with that, as long as "Activist Judges" are forever prevented from allowing homos to wed and we jerk our clocks back and forth like the rest of the Sheep in this country....

7. Expansion needed
We need to have an AMTRAK system that is a larger version of the South Shore Railroad. I have taken that before and it is actually a better option to get to Chicago than trying to drive the toll road.

Mostly though, it's just a lot easier to drive, especially when you live in a rural area. That's where AMTRAK falls short.

12. They're having a "contest" for the paint job...
I propose painting a Guckert-esque hard-on on the sides with the legend "Look out, Indiana, you're gonna get FUCKED!"
