What a load of fucking shit. How damn HARD is it to remember that in the summer, Chicago goes on Indianapolis time, and in the winter, New York goes on Indy time?

In MY business, we co-ordinate sattelite transmissions that cross several time zones, and video conferences that happen at places where it'a MIDNIGHT when it's 9AM here. We get it right 99% of the time.

The "Lost Business" argument is bullshit. If Hoosier CEO's can't hire people who know what time it is where they're doing business, then they fuckin' DESERVE to fail.

This DST movemnt is nothing more than more GOP Corporate Welfare.

Daylight saving time will be the end to all of Indiana's financial woes.

Not that I think it will actually get approved (history is against it), but I read somewhere that farmers are against daylight savings. Agriculture is very important around here, why would we want to make an unneccessary change and alienate one of our most important industries?

I rode past some harvesting operations last fall after dark. I was struck by several things:

A. How must DUST they were putting in the air.
B. The exact pattern of my bicycle headlight (told ya it was dusty)
and most importantly,
c. The ammount of lights they had, not only on top of the combines, but mounted on the grain haulers, too.

Lit up the whole area like that precious "saved" Daylight Our Bitch Mitch wants to bring us...

3. Perhaps the comments are related to the audit...

Newspapers are audited twice a year by the ABC to verify circulation, so they can adjust advertising rates. I have noticed that over the past 2-3 years, the more liberal comments appear more frequently leading up to and into the beginning of an audit period. (Maybe it's a coincidence, but maybe not).
As their subscriber numbers are down, they're doing what they can to appear hip and cool and liberal to the younger set, who will hopefully subscribe. Try canceling your Star subscription during this period -- you CAN'T! They'll keep delivering those papers right through month end, cause they count as "paid subscribers." (When I canceled my daily paper, I still got daily delivery for another month, then they started dropping the Sunday Star in my yard for five weeks after that!) My prediction: the liberal comments won't last beyond this month; watch things turn back to the right after March 1...
As much as I want to believe that Indiana folks are waking up, I've seen these little Gannett audit tactics before...("gee, look, we're inclusive!"; "smart, savvy, stapled", etc.)

5. Also, I read that Saturday's newspaper is the LEAST read of the week

if that is so, then Saturday's edition would be the one to publish the most liberal comments in. (for the rwing wacks at the Star) Also check their editorial page, I bet there are more 'liberal' columns on Saturday than any other ?
