Alton (IL) Man Admits Impregnating 10-Year-Old Stepdaughter

ALTON, Ill. (AP) -- A 39-year-old Alton man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his ten-year-old stepdaughter, who then became pregnant.

The man entered his plea in Madison County Circuit Court yesterday in exchange for an agreement to sentence him to no more than 15 years in prison.

He was accused of having sexual intercourse with the girl in October and November of 2003. She gave birth in the summer of last year -- after she turned eleven.

Police say he was helping to care for the baby in an apartment he shared with the victim and her mother when investigators first contacted him.

There have been many of examples of child predators meeting such a fate.

For example:
