Grassroots Democracy Meeting
Guest Speakers: Bill Singer and Christine Cegelis

Grassroots Democracy was started by volunteers who worked in the last
election campaign and are now dedicated to revitalizing the Democratic
Party. We want to elect progressives, oppose the radical right, and
save our democratic way of life. We're working to build an
organization that will empower the average American to participate
fully in winning elections for progressive candidates.

If you agree with these goals, then plan to attend so we can work
together at organizing to take back America.

Where & When

Goose Island Brew Pub, Wrigleyville
3535 N. Clark St.
Chicago
(On street parking, pay lots, Clark St. bus, 2 blocks from Addison EL
stop on the Red Line)

Thursday, February 17, 2005
6:30 to 8:30 p. m. ($3 donation suggested)

Bill Singer is a former independent 43rd ward alderman, former
Chicago mayoral candidate, and a well-known independent Democratic
leader. He was very active in the national Kerry-Edward campaign.

Christine Cegelis ran against Henry Hyde last Novermber and won an
impressive 44% of the vote with little or no help from the Democratic
Party or big fund raisers. Learn the latest on Hyde's rumored
retirement and Christine's plans to take his job!

Following the speakers and discussion, we'll break into action groups
to focus on creating local units, supporting Christine's campaign, and
organizing around critical issues. We have a lot of work to do. Your
help is vital.
