7. I'm really liking this one
Seems like I haven't heard from Green Day in ages. Takes me back to middle school and high school days!

Oh, and for the record, U2 rocks. All hail Bono. :D

6. To ask a stupid question
Especially since it's U2 (duh!), is it good? I haven't heard any of the cuts off it yet.

9. Yeah, it took me time to warm up to it but I do like it a lot
"Vertigo" is misleading, though... the rest of the record is WAY more mellow. I do like it better than ATYCLB. I really like "Miracle Drug," "Sometimes you can't make it on your own," "City of Blinding Lights," "Crumbs from your table," "One Step Closer," and the one right after that (blanked on title, argh.)

But yeah, it's very good. U2 has not lost its touch. I so wanted to see them on tour, but they Chicago dates were during my finals week (arg!) and they're long sold out. Oh well, wait for the fall tour leg, I guess.

8. Spanish Language tapes
I've had it with listening to NPR do press releases for the American Enterprise Institute.

I've about had it with this whole country.

Spanish may be useful if I need to emmigrate somewhere.

10. Real Gone by Tom Waits. It plays in my head a lot these days.
Great rhythm and melodies once you get past the aural assault.

12. kick
In the CD changer tonight:

Ludacris - Red Light District
Eminem - Encore (which, by the way, very disappointing except for Mosh - only reason I didn't throw the thing in the microwave)
Ludwig von Beethoven - Third (Eroica) and Ninth (Ode to Joy) Symphonies
Green Day - American Idiot
Linkin Park - Meteora

Anybody else want to chip in their musical picks to start the weekend?

16. Live Grateful Dead bootlegs.
From:

And I thought all those live shows would be gone forever when my tapes were stolen, destroyed or worn out.
