Poll question: Flu survey
I went from feeling fine to sick as a dog in an 8 hour period yesterday. Fortunately, our doctor still makes house calls, and he came by and checked me out and gave me some meds. He says the flu is hitting our area very hard right now, and I'm curious about how it is in your area.

:)

2. Very light flu
season here. I'm an RN and we've been fortunate this year. It's not bad at all.

4. Got it this week
but I never know the difference between the flu and an old fashioned cold, anymore. I used to think the flu meant sick to one's stomach, but in recent years it seems to be colds which can turn into pneumonia. Isn't everyone achy and icky feeling with a bad chest cold? I used to start popping antibiotcs, but I heard this am that the flu and colds are viral ???? -- so why did those pills help in the past? I do the zinc thing, lots of rest, chicken soup and vapo rub my chest. Hope you are feeling better.

you would have been feeling better in a few days with or without the pills.

12. seemed to
kick the chest cold faster, with a decreased likelihood of moving up to my head, where it is at present. Sure some infections are viral, but some are bacterial -- I've heard of bacterial pneumonia. Anyway, I am suffering through this sans antibiotics.

5. It's starting to hit hard here in Wisconsin too.
I know of one school in the Fox Valley that was closed because of the flu.

6. There's a lot of icky stuff out there right now.
We've had the snotties with a horrible hacky cough, we've had the snotties with fever, and we've had the "dire rears" with puking--and that is just since Jan 1. My kid shares with her father and I faithfully, it seems.

I know a guy who just had the most recent round of snotties (with fever) and he had the flu shot about 6 weeks ago. He missed about four days of work and took a week to recover once he went back.

Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, Tony. I hope it passes soon!

7. He went to bed and hasn't been up since.
I keep checking on him, and I have tea and chicken soup ready to go when he wakes up.

8. Chicken soup and TLC--he's a lucky guy!
Even If he's sick--he's a lucky guy to be well taken care of!

How about you, Paddy? I know you went thru some down time yourself--are you back up and running? I'd been wondering about you...
