I'm writing a (hopefully fact-based) short article on Roland Burris's career. The last documentation I saw quoted Burris as determined to run for the two-month term remaining in his Senate appt. before formation of the next Congress. I assume the judge who decided the candidates for it will be the same as those for the regular term, short-circuited this attempt. Did he respond publicly in any way?
And does he plan to return to his private law practice after he leaves the Senate? I assume he will, but haven't heard anything further.
