Rockford Tea Party meeting.
I saw the most astonishing thing tonight on the WIFR TV 23 news out of Rockford. An African American gentleman went to a tea party meeting, a meeting also attended by congressman Don Manzullo, and called them out. He told them that they were a bunch of racists. I loved it. He is a very brave man!

2. The mayor of Freeport, George Gaulrapp, is running
against Manzullo. I don't think there is much hope. Manzullo wants to get his twenty years in, then retire. And he ran on the promise of term limits. He told us he would not run for more than two terms.

Manzullo will probably win, even though George is a good guy who has proven himself. Then Manzullo will retire. Abboud says he will run for the seat as a Democrat in another two years. Abboud has lost once already, after spending a great deal of his own money. I don't think he is the best candidate for that seat anyway. I guess we will see what happens.

i will try to put together an email for him. although i admit that most of my friends out there are a little worn out with getting their hopes up every 2 years that they will finally get rid of that asshole.

5. This is just one more reason that I am taking a step back
from local politics for awhile. That, and I am worn out by the assholes in my own party. I need a rest before I find some other way to be an effective Democrat.
