Fight over eSlates

At one time highly praised by Hart Intercivic bosses for his expertise, technician William Singer finally gave up.
He'd grown tired of complaining to supervisors about shoddy work on electronic voting machines, including eSlate, and refused to be part of what he said was the deceit involved in securing government contracts.
He quit the company in January 2004, just as Kane County officials prepared their search for new voting technology.
"... I am convinced that our upper management team has a complete lack of commitment to providing good customer support, and instead intends to rely heavily on luck and the patience of our customer base to scrape us through future elections without either negative press or profoundly serious election failures and violations of the laws, certifications, contracts and promises were held to," Singer wrote in his resignation letter.
He sent letters to the secretaries of state in Ohio and Texas, warning them of possible problems with electronic voting machines
