guy running in the 14th
talked to this fellow on the phone today. seems like an ok guy. smart enough to be raising money now.
asked him how he felt about impeachment. since he wont get there in time, no matter what, he declined to comment. i pointed out that there will still be plenty of federal judges and other slimey leftovers that could use impeaching. he still declined to comment.

3. Stein
I'm impressed by the energy he seems to be putting into this.

But his site says he's opposed to cuts in military spending, which gives me pause about supporting him, especially when there are other candidates I don't know much about.

Linda Chapa LaVia
Bill Foster
Joe Serra (doesn't seem to have a site up yet)

Moot point for me, I guess, since I live in the Sixth where no one at all is running so far thanks to last year's chicanery by our friends in the party establishment. And any of those other candidates would surely be better than Laesch.

4. he didn't seem skeptical enough for me.
his comment on the 6th-
he- i still have not figured out why they didn't just give the support to the person who got 44% of the vote against hyde.
me- because they didn't want nobody nobody sent.
he- still, i don't get it.

well....
glad to hear about the others, although, didn't joe get his lunch packed for him last time, and didn't he also get the granite hat here?

a scientist, hmm, that might be good. and linda is pretty good as well, afaik.

5. John Laesch is running again.
Stein started early asking for support but John will have some organization in place. Chapa LaVia says she wont run unless Hastert drops out. That seems smart but her words of respect for the pork he brings in sucks and would leave me out of any primary support for her. Foster has his own money from what little I've read. I haven't seen any local PR on him yet. Serra had trouble running for a state seat. Lauzen is concerned Hastert will run and then hand the seat to his choice as successor. That would not surprise me.

7. I've met Laesch a few times.
I don't think he is a jerk.

Do you live in the 14th? I don't but it borders me out here.

8. no, i am in 9
not much for me to do here. it couldn't get any bluer.
a credible source told me that laesch beat the snot out of a stripper a few years ago. same source related other rude interactions, particularly with women.
i sort of objected to the whole fighting dem meme. i suppose of few of them were, but mostly, they all looked like good soldiers, prepared to do as they were told.

9. Heard a report that Chris Lauzen's going to run on GOP
if Hastert "retires". So, in essence, who ever runs will likely be running a campaign opposite of Lauzen.
