Yesterday the Illinois House just passed the budget and the Senate is expected to pass it today or tomorrow, which means the General Assembly will most likely adjourn tomorrow at the latest. I'm not sure if the House has gone home or is continuing to do business with the budget passed (as they wait for the Senate to do so) and HJR 0125 has not yet been voted on, to me it seems doubtful that it will be called during this session (especially if Madigan thinks it would negatively impact downstate Dems in tight races). If they are sticking around waiting for the Senate it could get called, but who knows. Remember it has to pass the Senate as well and its got to pass out of the House first. Those of you familiar with the legislative process can probably speak more on this issue.
On the bright side I see more members of the House have signed as sponsors, I believe Lou Lang (D-Skokie) has joined on, and I could see it called in the fall Veto session (2-3 weeks in November/Dcember), which might be better.
