New DCCC Web Ad on Stem Cell Research: Roskam’s Choice
I have not seen the ad yet but here is the press release for it, but it appears they are not waiting and taking the fight right at Roskam:

Today, the DCCC Unveiled a New Web Ad About Peter Roskam’s Choice to Oppose This Vital Medical Research and Hinder the Efforts to Advance Life Saving Medicine

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a new web ad spotlighting the choice that Illinois congressional candidate Peter Roskam made to oppose the benefits of stem cell research. The ad, called “Roskam’s Choice,” shows the wide range of support and far reaching benefits for stem cell research alongside Roskam’s stubborn and shortsighted stance. The ad also shows the company that Roskam keeps in opposing this vital research tool. He stands shoulder to shoulder with radical right figureheads like Pat Robertson, James Dobson and Tom DeLay.

“By opposing potentially life saving research, ideologically motivated Republicans are slowing progress and tearing apart American families affected by so many debilitating illnesses,” said Bill Burton, communications director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “The parts of the Republican Party in favor of stem cell research quietly oppose the beliefs of their far-right colleagues but don’t do anything to help the families they represent. They are a party in disarray, a party out of ideas and out of energy and American families know it. This November, voters will choose new priorities and new ideas over the same old status quo that stands in the way of American progress.”

1. Thank you for posting this wndycty
You know the same people that opposed stem cell research once thought that camera's stole their souls. What gives me hope is that those nuts eventually came around.

2. woohoo rahm!
honest. take it to them. i obviously now know you can.
i hope they also make a big point about public education there. in our travels and conversations out there, people told us they are most concerned about their schools. they hate nclb with a passion. roskam wants to disband the public schools and replace them with vouchers. he has a "non-profit" (read- brassplate slush fund) dedicated to this mission.
