Perhaps this is something the Cegelis and Duckworth supporters can agree on.

DRIVE PAC - Democrat Republican Independent Voter Education—or DRIVE—is the political arm of the Teamsters’ Government Affairs Department. Backed by one of the nation’s largest Political Action Committees, the DRIVE program has the resources to effectively support candidates who back Teamster priorities and oppose those who work against us.

They gave Roskam $5,000 last October. Why is a labor group giving a pro-business right-wing wingnut this money? Can anyone say backroom deal?

1. They won't be the only Union doing that.
The Unions tell me that they want Bean out of office and they are not above backing a republican (almost verbatim). They put a lot of money and effort toward getting her elected the last time and she turned around and voted against them by voting for CAFTA.

They are very bitter.

2. This is not Bean's district (8th)
This is the 6th District, Henry Hyde's old district. This is the person that either Cegelis or Duckworth would face in the general election.

4. Hoffa has been very supportive of the GOP.
The ports deal may change some attitude. They need the party in power to hold back on Mexican truck drivers entering the US. At least until Hoffa can figure out a way to collect dues from them. The Teamsters have been leading a lot of the rifts in labor orgs. In Illinois the UOE(operating engineers) have supported the GOP too.

i suppose there is a point when a civilization is circling the drain when a lot of people are grasping at anything that is still floating. hope this puts some of the duckworth endorsements in a little more realistic light.
