DC is flooded, Metro stations are closed, & people are on their own.
I even had leaks (from a closed off light
fixture and a skylight), and the basement is completely flooded.

The beltway is closed, Constitution Ave is closed,
Amtrak & Brunswick trains have been suspended, and
people are waiting hours for shuttle buses.

Imagine if this were something other than rain.

2. The IRS and the EPA are closed.
The storms are continuing today. Big time.

It's a gully washer.

Had this been an actual security emergency, we'd be
up the Potomac without a paddle.

Wait! I have a paddle... and an inflatable kayak.
I'd be OK.

out drinking since their offices are closed (it's the first time the NMAH and NMNH have closed on a workday since 9/11) shame for my mom who is in town visiting, all she wanted to see was American History before it closes in September. maybe it will be open tomorrow...

4. You know what's scary
It's like DC is being punished for what they did to New Orleans; although, mind you I know that it's the temporary citizens of DC that did it - not the permament DC ones
