Thank you everyone who came to DC this weekend!!
All I can say is what an amazing weekend with all the get togethers and most importantly the protest on Saturday afternoon. When you plan something like this, it just becomes all worthwhile when you see everyone together in a united cause which is making our voices heard in DC.

I think the great thrill was standing in front of the White House with my fellow DUers and all of the protestors chanting "Liar Liar Liar Liar" on and on with what seemed like forever!!

And it was so great to meet so many of you at both Hawk & Dove and RFDs. Hats off to the managers of these places who gave us our own area and provided great service. I think we left a couple of those $5 pitchers behind at H&D.

I just hope everyone had a safe time and made it home safely. I'm actually going to be off of work again tomorrow - my voice is on hiatus while I recover from an extremely bad sore throat.

Hopefully we can all meetup again in DC for future protest (I'm hoping they have another 'March for Choice') or maybe at at meetup in your hometown.

And finally a special thanks to brainshrub who was like my sanity throughout all the chaos of organizing this thing!! A big  for your help and calm nature!

Take care!!

1. No, LynneSin, thank you and all of the DUers who made it possible.
You gave us directions, encouragement, and it was all just great. Even if some us just couldn't 'keep up' with you younger ones. I loved the whole thing, except for the Metro line repair waits!!

2. That so fricking sucked
I picked Cap Hill Suites because it was on the same metro line. I really didn't need a 15 block walk before doing another 30 block march.

But we do what we have to do!

3. No, Lynne, thank YOU!
I know I've thanked you a bunch of times, but it's never too many. There were a few hiccups, but they were definitely not of your making (the Metro repairs, etc.). I hope Misunderestimator is doing okay now. I'm so sorry she and NothingShocksMeAnymore couldn't participate after her accident with the window.

It was so great meeting everyone and it's been so cool today "talking" to people and actually knowing what they look like. Of course, there have been a lot I know I met and I just can't picture them unless I spent some time talking to them. I wish we had photos of everyone who was there with their names. Too many people don't have photos posted in the gallery in Demopedia.

4. What a meaningful weekend we had....
Once again we learned how special DUers are. We also learned that even if we came to DC alone--we were part of a wonderful DU family.
And LynneSin..it was great to be with you in DC for yet another march... and to meet so many other DUers-- I'm still feeling the energy--------as my feet, legs and assorted joints are aching....

7. LOL! I might.....
Between getting back to work, reviewing all the posts and picture threads, telling my wife and everyone the stories--I haven't even gotten my pictures off the camera yet..

I think our Michigan contingent was awesome! It was great to march together and hang out together.

5. Hi Everybody!
My legs are still sore, but it was so very, very worth it. It was so great meeting and hanging out with everyone. A special thanks to you, Lynne, you did an awesome job of organizing! I will post my pics soon. I started on Sunday night but it crashed my 'puter. I'll try again after work today (Tues). Most of them are a bit too dark, so I want to work on them before I store them on PhotoBucket.
Again, hi to all. I hope to meet up with you again soon!
:hi:

8. Thank **you** Lynnie ...and Brainshrub too !

I noticed how busy you were getting all your DUcklings gathered and bringing them in with your cell phone :) I helped The Witch hold up the Here in Spirit sign :hi: Now I'm sorry I didn't force my introduction on you, and to thank you for the encouragement and support for making this first time *protester* so comfortable !

I stayed in Crystal City, and the Metro was a nightmare from that point, because they kept dumping us at Pentagon City (one stop up) to wait for the cursory 30-60 minute delays for the one track closed clusterfu*k. The platform was so jammed, packed and panicked, many protesters, book festival attendees, and the Nationals were playing home games too...many METS fans, not to mention Virginia home team fans...so how many more thousand was that !?!

Alot of DC visitors stay in the Crystal City hotels because of their close proximity to National, free shuttles and great rates. I'm sorry to hear you still had a problem in town!

Sorry I missed the Hawk and Dove, I was on my way, even patted the old Longworth House Office Building where I used to work as a staffer in the late 60's! BUT, my jaw was throbbing from a problem with a crown, and chose an evening of Tylenol and beddy-bye to make sure I was in marching shape on Sat.

It was a grand day, wasn't it ! :grouphug:

On edit: spiellling :)

11. Thanks again, Lynne! Here's some pics:
My pics of the Hawk and Dove get-together did not come out too well. I was still getting used to the camera.
