Friday Night Party in DC new location: Hawk & Dove - Sept 23rd
If you haven't read or heard, the original party location for the Friday Night Pre-protest party was, well, burnt down. And even though they say they'll be reopened in a couple of weeks I have not guarentee it'll be by Sept 23rd.

Anyhow - so the party will be at the Hawk & Dove on Sept 23rd from 7-10. I'm still contacting them about where the best place in there to gather for drinks but it's a large place with several floors and we can also congregate outside for beverages too.

More details to come!!

4. I used to work at the Hawk'
as a waiter. Make sure you talk to bartender and manager Paul Meagher. He is a great guy and probably the best boss Ive ever had. He is also a great democrat, and really fun to talk politics with. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join you on the 23rd, I go back to Ann Arbor for school next week.

8. That's funny...I used to live withing walking distance of The Hawk
and Dove. I lived on the corner of S. Carolina Ave. right next to the Eastern Market metro stop. I spent a lot of time at the Hawk and even more time at The Tune Inn.

I wish I could make it. It would be cool to meet everyone and visit the neighborhood again.

10. Funny -- I was going to suggest the Hawk & Dove, but
I didn't realize it was that large. I thought it was a fairly small place. There's (at least there was a number of years ago when we ate there) a great Chinese restaurant right down the street for anyone who might want to grab dinner before the meetup.

14. Is this an OK place for kids?
I have a ten-year-old who will probably come with me to the "shindig" on the 24th. Is the H&D OK with me bringing her or is it grown-ups only?

16. I think the kids will be fine but before 9am
They have a pub restaurant in there but if you come after 9pm they become more of a bar.

Hell we took an 8 year-old to BBKings in NYC to see 2 Led Zeppelin tribute bands - your kid will be fine!

19. Lynne and others,
I have a friend coming down from Brooklyn Friday night with her 6 month old, and I really want to go to Hawk 'n Dove and meet up with everybody. I live here on the Hill and have been to H&D many times, but do you think it will be baby-friendly that night (hopefully we can be outside to avoid the smoky stench)?

Is anyone else coming with kids and still wants to meet up with the DU Crew? How will you be handling it? I am kidless, myself, and so don;t really know how to deal with these things.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks.

21. There were tables all along the street when I went
we ate at one - unless they pull them in at night.

The party is from 7-10 so to be honest, I'm not sure if the party will be "baby-friendly"
