Please sign this Petition to get rid of Zell
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 08:07 PM by Jim4Wes
Eric Carbone is a former Clark supporter who put this petition movement together:

Carbone Petitions Miller to Switch to GOP

By JEFFREY McMURRAY, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - An Internet entrepreneur who worked for Wesley Clark 's failed Democratic presidential campaign wants to flood Sen. Zell Miller 's office with electronic petitions asking him to switch to the Republican Party.

Eric Carbone, who organized the effort, says the Georgia Democrat's decision to deliver the keynote address at next week's Republican National Convention pushed him into action.

Carbone is encouraging people to sign the electronic petition at his Web page, Zellout.com. For every 1,000 signatures he gets, he plans to send a "big red elephant" to Miller's Washington office. "The goal is to get him to switch parties and call a spade a spade," said Carbone, a resident of Reston, Va.

Miller says he has no plans to switch parties, pointing out he has never voted for a Republican in 52 years as a voter.

7. The only way he'd switch parties
is if the Democrats got a one seat majority in the Senate.

Of course, at that point, I think he'd be on the receiving end of a lot of gift wrapped boxes of manure.

it's been pointed out that he won't seek re-election. that's true, but he'll stay plugged into the machine none-the-less. won't hurt for him to hear our outrage, however faintly...

10. I signed it, heres' my comment
He like to draw on how southern he is when he's on the sunday morning shows, so I wrote it to him as he would understand:

Someone commented to me how you had become such a "closet Republican". 'Nonsense' I said to them, you are quite open in your allegiance to the Republican Party and it's ideals.

I do wish you would leave us good Democrats in peace. Stop embarrassing yourself and us too. Leave the party that no longer wants you.

I hold you personally responsible for the mess that has become the state of our union, you and your good friend, George W. Bush. I never thought I'd ever see the day that I am ashamed of this country, but I am and there is no one to blame but the Bush Administratio, which you are part of.

Silly little lap dog. Don't come crying back to us when you're turned out by your new "friends". You're not welcome here under our big tent.

12. Here's mine...
I heard your comments on Fox today, and I was sickened that I had voted for you in the past. You spoke of centrism and moderation. The president you are supporting over your own party has lost any vestige of responsibility in protecting our future; whether it be the environment, fiscal responsibility, social security, the health and safety of our children, education, and even our security against terrorism. His war of choice in Iraq has weakened us, stretched our troops and National Guard, so thinly, that if there was another attack on our soil, we probably could not handle it. So I don't know why you and 46 % of ignorant Americans would believe that Bush is better at protecting this nation than Kerry. Wake up, Mr. Miller. You are as conservative and fanatically right wing a Republican as anyone could be. Please switch parties, and be true to yourself at least, because you have absolutely betrayed those who have voted for you.
Sincerely
T. Jones

11. signing this would violate my golden rule of petitions..
Never sign any petition which doesn't allow you to even read the signatures of others who have signed it. My other golden rule is never start a petition unless you have the courage to sign it!

13. Done, and here's my comments.
I've written to you before about my disgust with your antics. Yes, I'm signing this petition because now I realize I'm not alone! All the Democrats in Georgia have abandoned you the same as you did them. You abandoned your ethics as a Georgian, and I'm ashamed that you are my senator. Soon you will realize ou are being used by your newfound associates, and yearn for the days you had real friends and supporters. Sorry Zell, don't bother trying to come back, we don't want you anymore.
