Bush Stumps in Friendly Georgia, Texas
By BEN FELLER

Associated Press Writer

STATESBORO, Ga. — President Bush, faced with polls that show his party's hold on Congress slipping, said Monday that Democrats haven't won anything yet.

"You know what I know — this election is far from over," Bush said at a Republican rally at Georgia Southern University, campaigning for House candidate Max Burns.

He mocked talk of Democrats already considering which offices they'll take if they win control of Congress.

****************************
God damn it.

I've held out hope over the last few years because I knew it was getting more and more conservative (I don't know what happened - it was quite the liberal place when I was there), but this takes the goddamned cake!

Fuck you Georgia Southern. I am an alumni and I can say it all I want. F.U.G.S.

I refused to go to Homecoming this year because they had our asshat Rep gov (stupid moonface idiot Sonny Perdue) give last year's commencement address. This is beyond the pale.

I hereby vow I will never set foot on that godforsaken campus ever again (and I can hold a grudge - I didn't talk to someone for 7 years because he didn't get me a concert ticket and he got everyone else in our circle of friends one). This is final.

I can't wait until they call me begging for money........

3. .
I can't say that it's too much better over here in Athens.

Every football game I go to there are those damn "dawgs for Sonny" stickers everywhere.

4. Ew. That is pretty bad.
I think its time to admit that our institutions of higher learning are leaning way to the red zone (redneck zone). I used to equate voting republican with the low education level of most of the people of this state. Now I really must wonder: is our children learning?

I peeled the alumni sticker off my car yesterday. :(

8. Many die-hard fans of college football do not have degress from the colleges
whose teams they love. In fact, some of them have never stepped foot in a college classroom.

6. Actually...
You're an alumnus... or an alumna... not an alumni.

Unless of course you have multiple personalities.

9. I'll be glad to get the other GSU to call you next time they call me asking for $
I graduated from Georgia State, but they drive me nuts calling wanting money. Think of it this way - seriously - most of the people who showed up at that rally probably never went to college. Same way with the Bulldog fans in Athens.

10. It still doesn't make me feel better.
Really, the only way to cleanse the sleaze is for Hanner Field House to burn to the ground.

And they are having their first losing season since 1996!! hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
And they play their arch-rivals this weekend (Furman). I hope they get their asses handed to them in no uncertain terms. I may even wear purple and silver this Saturday (Furman's colors).

F.U.G.S.

11. Ruby, Ruby, Ruby....
Statesboro has forever been Conservative. It was in the early 80's when I graduated.....that's for sure. The difference then was there were Conservative Dems that sometimes got elected.

I didn't know you went to Ga Southern.?!

12. Hello there my fellow Eagle!
Yep, Class of '96. I knew Statesboro was conservative. If you listened closely on a wamn summer night on campus you could hear the ever so gentle sounds of a banjo being played somewhere off in the distance..... :P

But the campus wasn't that bad when I was there. Seriously, the only way to cleanse itself now is for Hanner Field House to burn to the ground. And I really can't wait until they call me asking for money...
