3. I heard this morning that there'd be HUGE savings!
They said something like 48 Billion over 20 years! Say goodbye to the deficit! We'll be in the black in no time!

That's like 2.4 Billion Dollars a year! That's something like half of this year's Iraq... well, a quarter... wait ($82B/$2.4B... hmmmnnn.. dividing... darn Windows calcu.... )

Okay, that's about ONE THIRTY-FOURTH of THIS YEAR'S spending bill for Iraq and the War on terra!!!

Oh, wait...

Nevermind.

6. Yes, if anyone thinks this isn't punishment for the liberals in the metro
area, they're delusional.

8. Two reasons that I have heard
1. They have a strong intel unit there.

2. Provides a close place to ship out planes from Florida or from sea when hurricanes threaten (providing, of course, the hurricane doesn't head this way!).

9. What impact is this going to have on Lockheed in Marietta?
They have that new contract, and they share the runway, as far as I know.

10. Well, I hope the only impact will be less traffic
around Lockheed, since I have to pass by it on my way to and from work.

11. I hope you're right. My fear is that there was some shared agreement
on runway maintenance, or maybe the Navy paid the entire bill. The aircraft building business is not in very good shae and I wouldn't want to loose Lockheed in Atlanta!
